Praying for your baby’s growth and arrival is such an important part of preparing for them to come into this world
Prayers + Bible Verses for the Third Trimester
(Week 28)
You are finally in the home stretch……. Your baby will be here in just 12 weeks! Although this seems like a long time, you will want to start preparing the nursery and your home for your little one’s arrival.
Prayer – Thank you God for a healthy pregnancy! We are so close to meeting our little baby and can’t wait for that day to come. As we begin to prepare for his/her arrival, help us to keep you in the center of all the busyness. You are so good! Amen.
- “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
(Week 29)

Your little one may be able to start sensing light outside the womb! It’s crazy how fast your baby is growing. This week he/she is already the size of a butternut squash!
Prayer – Lord, Oh how amazing is this process. You have planned every little detail so perfectly. I pray that as my baby is quickly growing, that I can enjoy every moment. Help me to stay present and not wish away this precious time. Amen.
- “Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22
(Week 30)
This week your baby’s lungs are beginning to fully develop. Isn’t it amazing that in just a few weeks he/she will be able to breathe on their own? God is continually working His hand on your little miracle.
Prayer – Father God, Thank you for this little blessing growing within me. I pray for my baby’s lungs, that they would continue to grow and develop perfectly. Each week that passes is a reminder that you can do the impossible. Continue to protect me throughout this pregnancy so I can nourish this little one. Amen.
- “For no word from God will be void of power.” Luke 1:37
(Week 31)
Baby is starting to put on some weight! Of course, God created him/her uniquely in His image.. So their weight can vary, at this stage. You are probably starting to notice that your baby thinks it’s time for a dance party…… when you are ready to get settled in bed! It’s good to start noticing their patterns!
Prayer – Lord, as my little one wiggles around throughout the night, I pray that this would be a reminder of your goodness. That I would be patient and understanding, even when I’m tired and restless. Let him/her grow to be patient, understanding, and loving of others. Thank you for this beautiful gift… I am so grateful! Amen.
- “ Oh give thanks to yahweh; for he is good; for his lovingkindness endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34
(Week 32)
Around this time, your baby may flip into the head down position….. Which is super exciting because you are going to meet him/her so soon!! From here on out, your little one is becoming extra sensitive to noise. They may even have a preference in music. Encourage your spouse to talk to your baby…. he/she will be able to recognize their voice once they are born!
Prayer – God, excitement and nerves overwhelm me these days. Please remind me that you are in control of every circumstance. No matter how much I would like to plan when I deliver, you already know the exact second he/she will come into this world. Let my words bring glory to you and may my little one hear how much I love you. Amen.
- “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27
(Week 33)
Your little one is continually practicing breathing, swallowing, and sucking their thumb. Isn’t it amazing that God is preparing them for what is to come?
Prayer – Lord, so often I like to know what is coming so I can be prepared. While my little one is growing in my womb, you are preparing him/her for this life. You are equipping him/her with the skills he/she needs to breathe and eat. I pray that this child would always trust your plans… even if he/she doesn’t know what you are preparing them for! Amen.
- “ Those who know your name will put their trust in you. For you, Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10

By this week, your baby may start dreaming because their brain has fully developed!
Prayer – Lord Jesus! Thank you for giving me this little one to grow and nurture. As my baby begins to dream, I pray that you would allow his/her thoughts to be of your glory. While he/she grows up and dreams of his/her future, would you be the desire of their hearts. Give them the courage to run after what you have set their heart, soul, and mind to love. Amen.

(Week 36)
Your womb is becoming a lot less roomy. Everyday as your baby grows, there becomes less room to move around. But this won’t stop them from trying!!
