We’re going to be having a baby!!!! I’m still in shock as I write those words.
Since the day Cameron (my husband) and I got married, we’ve been praying for kiddos. We always knew that it just wasn’t the right time. Being that he is in the military, we did LOTS of moving and said too many goodbyes. It didn’t seem right to raise our little ones during this crazy time.
Now that we’re pregnant, I see what God was doing. The last 7 months weren’t the right time either, He had a bigger and better plan.
A few days before thanksgiving, I noticed this weird stretching ache in my belly button. I honestly thought it was the start of a hernia of something…. because I never felt that before.
That night I had a break down. You know that cry your eyes out and wipe your mascara on your husbands shirt kind of moment. Our families were traveling to be with us for thanksgiving and I swore that we would be pregnant by then. Although I knew my period wasn’t expected until the weekend, I chalked this month up to being “too stressed.”
How I Found Out I was Pregnant
The next morning I woke up at 5am and decided to take a pregnancy test… I actually contemplated on just leaving it on the counter and checking it once I got up in a couple hours. But my curiosity made me sit in the bathroom, scroll through Instagram and wait until the test was done in 5 minutes.
Then I saw it….
The FAINTEST LINE EVER.
Honestly, I thought I was seeing things because I was looking at the test without my glasses on. So of course I kept tilting it back and forth… and in that moment I knew… I was pregnant.
My initial plan was to surprise my husband with a gift, but that all went out the window when my adrenaline kicked in. I started jumping on the bed to wake him up. We both laid there in awe of this little fain line.
Of course my husband doubted that this was actually a positive, so we took a First Response Pregnancy Test. The line was dark….. and there were no doubts that we were going to have a baby!
The crazy part about this whole thing is that our families, who live on opposite ends of the country, were traveling to be with us – that day.
God knew that THIS would be the most perfect timing. Im embarrassed that I ever tried to control His plans.
We are SO excited to share our journey with you and take you along each step of the way!
