The Prince of Egypt has a great cast with roles played by Sandra Bullock, Jeff Goldbloom, Steve Martin, and Martin Short to name a few.
The Star
The Star was released in 2017 and is an animated Christian comedy based on the nativity story. The story follows a donkey named Bo who wants more out of life and ends up breaking out of the village mill. Bo and the friends he meets along the way end up being a part of the nativity story. The Star is a heart-warming tale about the first Christmas that will not only be enjoyed by your little ones, it will also teach them about the birth of Jesus.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
It would be hard to mention the best movies for little ones without mentioning a classic like Winnie the Pooh. Although this movie came out in 1977, it’s still loved by children everywhere and is tame enough for children of all ages. Joseph King of Dreams
After The Prince of Egypt was such a hit, in the year 2000, Joseph King of Dreams was released as a companion and prequel to The Prince of Egypt. Much like the first movie, Joseph King of Dreams is an animated film that is an adaptation of a story in the Bible. This film follows the story of Joseph and how his story led to the story of Moses.
Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie
The VeggieTales series is always a favorite of little ones in Sunday school, and this full length musical comedy from 2002 may even remind you of your own days watching VeggieTales. This computer animated film tells the story of Jonah from the Bible after Bob the Tomato and the Veggie children get in an accident on their way to a concert. At the end of the story, the veggie children learn that the moral of the story is God calls us to show compassion and mercy to all of his children, no matter what they’ve done.

Bob the Tomato and Larry the cucumber host this series and they have retell Bible stories in a way that is both entertaining and engaging for children.. Your little ones will learn so many lessons from watching this series, and it’s appropriate for kids of all ages.
3-2-1 Penguins!
3-2-1 Penguins is another animated show that teaches kids about the Bible and was created by Big Idea Entertainment, the same production company that created VeggieTales. Premiering in the early 2000s, 3-2-1 Penguins tells the story of twins Jason and Michelle as they are taking on a galactic adventure with four penguins. Throughout the series, the twins face all kinds of moral dilemmas, and even the youngest viewers learn a valuable lesson at the end of each episode. There were 26 total episodes of 3-2-1 Penguins before it went off the air, but the entire series can be streamed online for your little ones.
What’s in the Bible
Another great series by VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer, the goal of What’s in the Bible is to bring the entire Bible into the lives of children and explain it to them in a way they can understand. Instead of simply telling them bits of pieces of what the Bible says, Phil Vischer created this series so that kids of all ages could have a foundational knowledge and understanding of what the Bible means and why they believe in what God’s word says.
Bugtime Adventures
A production by Lightning Bug Flix, Bugtime Adventures is a series that was created to teach little ones the stories of the Bible. In this animated children’s show, a cast of bugs living in the Middle East during Old Testament times. In each episode, the characters face a moral dilemma that goes along with a Biblical story. Bugtime Adventures first came out in 2006 and can be streamed through Prime Video.
Owlegories
Owlegories is an animated series for little ones that uses a group of owls to teach about faith and following God. Using Psalm 19:1-4 as a foundation, the goal of this series is to teach kids about God by exploring his creation and seeing him as a true artist. Owlegories was created by the Boto family, and the idea originally started as an interactive storybook app. As lovers of nature and the great outdoors, the Boto family wanted to create something that could show their love of nature as well as their love of Jesus.
