Do you know someone struggling through the valley of trying to have a baby right now and you don’t know what to do to help? Your sister, friend, or daughter desperately wants to have a baby, but things are harder than they ever thought they would be. You try to think of a prayer for someone trying to get pregnant.
Scriptures and prayer for a woman that is in this season of waiting to be a mother can sometimes be the only thing that can be offered. A listening ear, a hug, a meal when they are having a particularly bad day can also help, but prayer and what the word of God says can be the most constant encouragement.
How to Pray for Someone That’s Trying to Get Pregnant?

You may be wondering exactly how to pray for someone trying to get pregnant, or what prayer would make a difference.
Pray Scriptures
I would encourage you to pray straight from the word of God. He loves to hear our wishes, hopes, and dreams, but sometimes those are not within the will of God. However, if we pray the scriptures back to God, our hearts will align with His will.
Be Content with The Answer
While saying a prayer for someone trying to get pregnant is a good thing, we need to remember that God is not a genie. His word says to “ask and it will be answered” and that is true. God will always answer our prayers, he always hears us, but we may not get the answer we want. He may answer with “wait”, “yes”, or “no”. Part of praying is to be content with the answer because no matter what, God is always good.
Praying with our hearts and hands open, and full of trust, laying down our will for the will of God, may be the single most important way to pray for our friends that are struggling with infertility. Praying that they will have peace no matter what the answer is and trust God’s plan and purpose for their life.
Prayers For Friends Struggling to Get Pregnant

Finding the words to pray is not always easy. Wanting to get the prayer just right so it will be effective is something we try to achieve, but take heart, even if you jumble the words, the Spirit knows what is in your heart and intercedes on your behalf. However, here are some suggestions for prayers to get you started.
God’s Will Be Done
Father, I come to you and raise my friend to you. She so longs to be a mother. You see her and know her heart, You care about her life and her worries and You see her desire to be a mother. I pray that you will honor her desire and grant her a child to love and point to you, but I pray more for your will in her life. Your will is good and perfect even if we don’t understand. Even if your will doesn’t feel good at the moment, we can trust you. Amen.
That She Has Peace
Father, I pray that my friend will have peace in the midst of the valley. Not peace as the world gives but peace that you give. A peace that passes understanding and can settle a troubled heart. I pray that when she is anxious, troubled, sad, or feeling lost that she will go to you first and foremost. That she will lay it down before you and receive your peace instead. Give to her abundantly and without reserve. Amen.
Pray for Trust
Lord, I come to you and pray for my friend as she is struggling to have a baby. She feels lost, and alone. She is struggling to trust you in the midst of this pain that she is feeling. Let her remember the stories of the mothers of Israel. Hannah, Sarah, Rachel, Elizabeth. The women that came before that longed to be mothers, that waited, prayed, and almost gave up on the possibility. But God, you heard them, you answered. I pray that she will trust you. Trust your goodness no matter the outcome. Amen.
Her Faith is Built
Father, I pray that my friend will have her faith built through the waiting, through the pain. That she will lean on you in the good, the bad, the waiting. I pray she will be like a tree planted near the water, unmovable. That she will not be shaken because she is anchored in your steadfast love. Wrap your arms around her and let her feel your presence in the trial. You are our stronghold and protector, protect her heart and faith. Amen.
That She Will Receive Her Request
Father, please hear the request of my friend. Hear her heart, her desire. She desires to have a baby. To raise a child to love you. I pray that you will give her what she is asking. I pray that she will trust that you are good no matter the outcome. Amen.
Bible Verses to Pray Over Them

Psalm 57:1-3
“Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed. I cry out to God Most High, to God who accomplishes my requests for me. He will send from heaven, and save me, he rebukes the one who is pursuing me. God will send out his loving kindness and his truth.”
As a prayer for a friend trying to get pregnant, this verse is just such a covering. To pray that God would be gracious to your friend and God sends his faithful love and truth, would be such a blessing to that friend’s heart.
Romans 3: 3-5
“For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God? May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, “that you might be justified in your words and might prevail when you come into judgment.” But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.”
Pray that your friend would be strengthened by this trial. That she would persevere and be full of hope and lack disappointment. One of my favorite verses for any moment of life.
Phillipians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”
This verse is often paired with sports. That the players might win, but this verse is about trials, struggles, persecutions. Things we walk through as followers of Christ. That we can do all that we are asked by God because of Christ. Pray this over your friend so she will have the strength to persevere.
