One of the most exciting moments of being pregnant is when you find out whether you are having a boy or girl. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could know by 7 weeks? If you are impatient and need to know sooner than your 20-week ultrasound, here is how you can find out your baby’s gender early!

How I Found Out My Baby’s Gender at 9 Weeks
After our first ultrasound, I asked my midwife about getting a blood test to find out the baby’s gender. Unfortunately, our insurance didn’t cover that and I didn’t want to spend $800+ to get the NIPT done.
We wanted to find out early because we had planned a trip to visit my husband’s family when I was 11 weeks pregnant. Since my husband was in the military, we thought it would be fun to host a baby shower/gender reveal, so everyone could celebrate with us.
So, I started looking into ways to find out the baby’s gender early. That’s when I stumbled on SneakPeek.
The reviews were pretty mixed, so I was very leery about doing it.

After reading through thousands of reviews and browsing their website, I found out that they have clinics that will do it for you. The results were much more accurate this way, so I decided to sign myself up!
Needless to say, we got the results back and found out we were having a baby girl!
This is us finding out at the Gender Reveal Party:
We did wait to start buying anything girly until after the 20 week ultrasound, just to be sure! But, the SneakPeek early gender test was right….. It was a girl!
I want to share with you guys a full review of the SneakPeek gender test because I was so hesitant to do it. I wish I had someone’s honest opinion…… which was more than a 500 word review on Amazon!
(Honest) Sneak Peek Gender Test Review

Like I mentioned earlier, I read through thousands of reviews about the Sneak Peek DNA Test – Gender Prediction. What I found was that the at-home tests were less accurate than going to a clinic.
I noticed that there were more positive reviews by moms who had their blood drawn by a professional than from the at-home test. Again, this is just the observation I made.
At first, I was a bit confused by the tests they offer. So, I want to break down the different early gender prediction tests they offer and how they work!
What Test do Sneak Peek Offer?
1. SneakPeek Clinical Early Gender DNA Test
This is a blood test that is taken by a participating phlebotomist.
Price: $129+
Accuracy: 99.1%
How to Find an Early Gender Test Location
First, you will need to see if there are any clinical near you. A lot of ultrasound imagery businesses offer SneakPeeks Early Detection test.
[Click Here to see if there are any participating locations near you.]
Then, you will book an appointment. Most places offer it for $129, but some will up-charge you a bit. I felt like the extra cost was worth it because I wanted the results to be accurate.
What’s the Process?
Once you get to your appointment, you will fill out some paperwork. This is pretty much just stating that you understand that it’s 99% accurate and where you want the results sent to.
Then the phlebotomist will call you back and she will draw your blood. The clinic sends it in to the lab and you should receive your results with 72 hours!!
How do I get my results?
You will get an email within 72 hours of your appointment. Some locations claim to get you the results the next day, but it took a few days for me.
Keep your eyes out for an email that says “Your SneakPeek Results are In!”
2. SneakPeek At-Home Lancet (Finger Prick)
This is the original early gender DNA test. You will receive a lancet, which is how you will prick your finger. Then you will collect the blood in the test tube. There is a fill line, so this could take 2-10 minutes.
Price: $65
Accuracy: 99%
From my personal experience, although the test claims to be 99% accurate, I believe you have a greater chance of getting a false result. The reason being that it’s more likely to get the blood contaminated. I believe it says in the instructions that males should not be handling the test.
Here is a review that confirms even when no males are present… some how it’s possible for their DNA to get in there!

Before you buy a test, I would recommend watching their how-to videos, so you get an idea of what the process looks like.
It’s free shipping both ways, so that’s a plus!
After the lab has received your results, you will get an email saying “Your SneakPeek Results are In,” by the next business day!
3. SneakPeek Gender Snap (Arm)
Their last test option is a pain-free device that draws blood from your arm. After you collect the blood, you send in your sample and get your results in as early as 72 hours.
Price: $89-$149
Accuracy: 99%
Again, they claim it’s 99% accurate. I think if you do EVERY step perfectly, that number is probably true. But, even if you sterilize like crazy you might get the wrong results.
Although, this method seems a lot less likely to get contaminated by male DNA. (I’ll talk about this more in a bit).
Here is the How-To Video for the Gender Snap:
The reviews on this test are definitely much more positive than the finger prick. So, I feel like your chances of the gender being correct are higher.
They have a fast-track option that will get you results in just 72 hours!!!
Just like the original test, the shipping is free too!
So which test is best for you?
