When thinking through how you want to announce your little bundle of joy, it may be helpful to think through what Bible verses have been special to you during your journey to pregnancy.  You also may want to think about how you want to announce and that is where I come into help.  I want to help you by putting Bible verse suggestions as well as ways to announce your baby!

1. Psalm 139:14

“I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful.  My soul knows that very well.”

This is a very well known and easily recognizable Bible Verse for baby announcements.  You will see onesies, blankets, and mini marquee signs with this verse along with an ultrasound picture.  It is so sweet and speaks to the care our creator takes to make us.

2. Psalm 23:5

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.  You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.

The part of this verse that is most used is “My cup runs over”  to signify the fullness of blessing that children bring.  If you are overjoyed to be expecting and want all of your friends and family to know it, then this verse is just right.

3. Psalm 127:3

“Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh.  The fruit of the womb is his reward.”

One of my favorite Bible verses for pregnancy announcements.  So often children are seen as a burden by our culture, but God says that are a heritage and a reward. I truly believe what this verse says and am so thankful for the reward of my children. I pray that you will know that your children are a reward from the Lord.  What better Bible verse for a baby announcement?

4. Isaiah 49:16

“Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Your walls are continually before me.”

More commonly seen as “you hold me in the palm of your hands” this verse speaks to the care and protection of our children and ourselves by our creator. To know that he holds your child in his hands as he forms that sweet child in the womb, is such comfort.  Such a great verse for a sweet pregnancy announcement.

5. Isaiah 66:9

“Shall I bring to birth, and not cause to be delivered? Says Yahweh. Shall I who cause to give birth shut the womb? Says your God.

When I saw a pregnancy announcement with this verse to tell friends and family about a sweet rainbow baby, my heart just melted. There is always joy and newness at the end of suffering and pain.  God always brings the morning full of joy.

6. Psalm 127:4

“As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.”

Our children are precious and a gift from the Lord for his purposes.  They are arrows to launch into the world to do what God created them to do.  This can also be a prayer for the child that you are expecting.  That they will be arrows that complete their God given purpose.

7. Psalm 113:9

“He settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children. Praise Yah!”

This verse is full of such joy for the women that thought they would never be mothers.  God is good and sees us in our struggles, sadness, and joys.  There is so much hope housed in this verse.

8. Psalm 121: 1-2

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills.  Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.”

This verse can be applied to so many areas of life but a verse for baby announcements, could not be more perfect.  We lift our eyes up in thanks to the one that gives us our help.  The one that made everything, including our children.

9. 1 Samuel 1:27

“I prayed for this child, and Yahweh has given me my petition which I asked of him.”

This is another very popular and well known Bible verse for pregnancy announcements.  I love to see the mom with a maternity shirt on that says this “For this child I have prayed.”  Just my favorite thing.

How to Include Bible Verses in Your Pregnancy Announcement

Shoot a Photo of Your Pregnancy Test with Your Bible

The easiest, fastest way to get your Bible verse pregnancy announcement ready, is to use the Bible itself in the photo.  To do this highlight the Bible verse, put your pregnancy test above it, and take a picture.

This is probably one of my favorite ways to do an announcement with a Bible verse.  So simple, but so profound.  Friends of mine, that have walked the journey of miscarriages and infertility, have used this announcement.  The joy and thanksgiving they had was palpable, even through the computer screen.

Maternity Shoot + Bible Verse

If you are doing a maternity photo shoot, or have a photographer friend that can just shoot a few photos, then you might want to work in an announcement photo.

With you and your baby bump in the background, have the Bible verse in the foreground. This is a cute way to tell the world about your newest addition and something that can hang on your wall to remind you of this special time.  I love pregnancy announcements that have longevity and can serve as decor.

Swaddle Blanket and Ultrasound Idea

Preparing for your baby may be just as fun as announcing your baby so why not do both together?  Swaddles with Bible Verses and a sweet little hat will make the perfect announcement! Once you have an ultrasound picture, place the picture and hat on the blanket and take a photo to share with friends and family. So Sweet!

It’s nice because once the baby arrives, you can wrap them up in the swaddle blanket and take another  picture announcing their arrival into this world.  You could also use this to take the monthly photos to share with family and put in the baby book.

Onesie + Bible Verse

Another way to prepare for your baby AND announce their presence is to have a onesie made with your Bible verse of choice.  Onesies are so versatile and a  main staple of any baby wardrobe.

If you are going to have a cold weather baby, I suggest a long sleeve onesie with the built in mittens so it will be very functional. To make this announcement, simply take a picture, either of the onesie alone, the onesie with the ultrasound pic, or you and your spouse holding the onesie.

Mug with Ultrasound Photo + Bible Verse

As a mug lover (also the coffee that goes in the mug), I really like the idea of a custom mug with the pregnancy announcement Bible verse with the ultrasound in the mug.  Just take a picture and share with friends and family.  Simple and you get a mug to use over and over again during those early mornings of motherhood.

Tips On Creating The PERFECT Announcement

Choosing your Bible verse for your pregnancy announcement is such a fun and special time for parents expecting a child.  When you have chosen your verse, the next step is to decide how you want to make that announcement.  Do you need to order a custom onesie, shirt, mug, or blanket?   Do you have an ultrasound picture ready to go if you are planning to use one?  Use the ideas above as a starting point and customize your baby announcement to fit you perfectly.

Where are you going to announce your sweet bundle of joy?  Will you and your spouse keep it just for family?  A special meal where you make the announcement or maybe a video that you send out to family that lives far away?  Or just a simple picture with the exciting news that a new family member is coming?

If you love social media and really want one place to let everyone know (I suggest you tell your parents and siblings separately off of social media) then facebook or instagram would be a great place to post your Bible verse pregnancy announcement photo or video.

However you choose to announce your baby and whatever Bible verse you pick, it will be wonderful and a time full of excitement knowing that God has chosen you to parent a child he loves so much.  Have fun putting together your announcement!
