57 Easy to Remember Bible Verses for Children to Memorize

Teaching our children scripture will set a foundation for them to begin building their own relationship with Christ. Isn’t this our goal as a parent? Our job is to guide them in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), so when they grow older they will have a strong faith. It’s important to start with easy Bible Verses for children to memorize, so they will have an easier time understanding what it means to have faith in Jesus Christ.

Growing up, I went to a small Christian school where we learned a new Bible Verse each week. Yes, for twelve years I memorized scripture weekly. Many of those verses have been the foundation of my faith.

Now that I have two little girls, I’ve already begun teaching them scripture. When my oldest daughter was 18 months, I began writing down verses on flash cards and teaching them to her over breakfast.

It doesn’t matter how old your child is, it’s never too late to get started! Keep in mind when choosing verses keep them short and simple. If you plan to teach them longer verses break them up over several weeks.

57 Easy To Remember Bible Verses for Children to Memorize

I’ve included 57 Bible Verses, so you can teach one a week for a year. We will start with the old testament and move into the new.

Before I share some of our favorite Bible Verses to memorize for kids, I want to remind you to keep it fun! Your children will be more receptive to learning if you sing a song, using a coloring sheet, or make a silly dance.

I decided to use the International Children’s Bible version of these verse simply because they are worded in a way that will help your child understand the concept. Which for kids I believe is one of the key aspects to building a strong foundation.
